Project Manager

Salary Range: £27,000 - £30,500

Location: Scotland

GUARD Archaeology is currently seeking the services of an experienced archaeological Project Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. The post will be based in our main office in Govan, Glasgow or our Edinburgh office and will involve a varied portfolio of work from commercial services to community projects.

Candidates for this post will be expected to be able to:

  • Prepare tenders for new work with minimal supervision and provide guidance to potential clients;
  • Produce quality project designs, WSIs and PERDs for active field projects;
  • Project manage contracts through fieldwork to completion of post-excavation, publication and archiving;
  • Provide support to Company Directors, Company Managers and historic environment staff where necessary;
  • Undertake general office duties as and when requested.

In addition, candidates will be expected to have the following:

  • At least 3 years previous experience in Project Management of archaeological projects in the UK;
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Archaeologists or equivalent experience;
  • A clean full driving licence is essential and previous experience of off-road driving is desirable;
  • All-round computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and a good attention to detail is essential;
  • A motivated and flexible work attitude and good communication and team-work skills;
  • An ability to meet deadlines and produce highly accurate work under pressure.
