GUARD Archaeology Limited are pleased to announce their involvement with the Cambuskenneth Community Project, a further collaboration with the Centre for Battlefield Archaeology at the University of Glasgow.
This joint project seeks to bring archaeologists, historians, metal detectorists and geophysists together with members of the local community to reveal evidence from the wars of independence and later periods of conflict in and around the abbey and its environs. Professional archaeologists from GUARD Archaeology will also provide training in a range of archaeological techniques to members of the public and local school groups. The project will start on 27th August 2012 and run through to Friday 14th September 2012. An Open Day for casual visitors will be held on Saturday 9th September. All welcome.
