We are delighted to announce that GUARD Archaeology Limited have been appointed by the Iona Housing Partnership to lead an HLF-funded community project on Iona this Summer. The project is based around the excavation of a number of archaeological features revealed within the Glebe Field, Iona and is open to volunteers. Due to commence on 27th August 2012 excavation is planned for the week commencing 3rd September 2012 and will also include visits by local school groups and an evening lecture by the lead archaeologist.
