GUARD Archaeology has extensive experience of battlefield archaeology, having investigated historic battlefields and other sites of conflict archaeology right across Britain and Europe. Battlefield archaeology requires a wide range of field archaeology techniques and the skills and experience to undertake them successfully. Our fieldwork and management teams possess the know-how to efficiently execute integrated programmes of field-walking, metal-detecting and geophysical surveys, test pits, trial trenches and excavations and battlefield artefact identification. We also have extensive experience in undertaking strategic and site specific assessments and management plans for battlefield archaeology sites. We work closely with the Centre for Battlefield Archaeology at the University of Glasgow and often collaborate with them in the investigation of battlefields.
